"My Journey" vs. "Experience": How Headers Confuse Robots
Being creative with your section titles can confuse the resume parser. Learn the standard headings that ensure your data lands in the right database fields.
## The Mapping Problem
An ATS doesn't "read" your CV; it maps it. It looks for signposts to tell it where to put your data in the database.
If your work history is under a header called "My Professional Journey," the parser might not recognise it. It treats that data as "Unassigned" or "Miscellaneous."
**The Result:** Your profile in the recruiter's system shows zero years of experience.
## The Safe List
Boring is better. Stick to the standard headers that every parser is hard-coded to recognise:
- **Work Experience** (Not "Where I've Been")
- **Education** (Not "My Learning")
- **Skills** (Not "Competencies & Superpowers")
- **Certifications**
Save your creativity for the bullet points. Keep the signposts standard.
